Adaptive Scorecard Metrics Training
AMC offers a three-day Certificate workshop in Adaptive Scorecard Metrics (CASM™). If you take the workshop you'll learn how to develop adaptive scorecard metrics you can use to fill out the learning and growth perspective of the balanced scorecard. The workshop is divided into four segments:
conceptual foundations,
measurement modeling methodology,
illustrations, and
work with software tools.
In conceptual foundations, the workshop provides an approach covering basic categories for thinking about organizational learning, knowledge, knowledge life cycles, sustainable innovation, and open enterprises. the conceptual frameworks give you the tools you need to think about indicators, measurement models and metrics for the learning and growth perspective.
The measurement modeling methodology specifies the steps needed to arrive at quantitative adaptive scorecard metrics. It takes you through the stages of developing an ontology model, specifying a measurement model from that, getting ratings you can use to develop attribute weights and scores to measure progress over time, and performing ratings consistency tests so you can check out the logic of your raters. It also covers facilitation approaches you can use to accomplish model development and testing.
The methodology is illustrated by presenting a number of models for generating adaptive scorecard metrics developed by AMC. These are presented in the context of a revised balanced scorecard framework developed by AMC.
Finally, the workshop presents you with an opportunity to work with a software application to develop an adaptive scorecard metric.
The CASM™ workshop includes workshop notes, a personal licensed copy of an AMC metrics report of your choice, and supplementary textbook material. Workshops also include continental breakfast, morning and afternoon coffee breaks and lunches.
Requirements to Attend
The program does not require any specific level of education or previous experience as a prerequisite for enrollment. It was developed with corporate or program level executives in mind, whose duties include not just the execution of isolated or narrow projects, but the development of enterprise-wide strategies/programs and multi-dimensional, multi-year implementations. CASM™ is a blueprint for designing, implementing, and executing a adaptive scorecard metrics. Thus, managers responsibility for business performance measurement and monitoring will get the most out of this program. It is the only one of its kind.
Instruction
The CASM program is taught by Joseph M. Firestone, Ph.D. creator of CASM™, co-author of 'The Open Enterprise -- Building Business Architectures for Openness and Sustainable Innovation' (KMCI Online Press, 2003) and 'Key Issues in The New Knowledge Management (KMCI Press, Butterworth-Heinemann, 2003), and author of Enterprise Information Portals and Knowledge Management (KMCI Press, Butterworth-Heinemann, 2003), and Risk Intelligence Metrics: An Adaptive Metrics Center Industry Report (KMCI Online Press, 2006). Joe is also Co-instructor in KMCI's CKIM™ program, and has taught at Michigan State University, SUNY at Buffalo, SUNY at Binghamton, and the University of Hawaii.
